Chetham Timber is a highly respected family owned company established in 1929. The company was purchased in 1937 by Tom Dominic McGrath and has been owned and run by the McGrath family ever since. Michael McGrath was Managing Director from 1950 to 1992. Brian McGrath became Managing Director in 1992 and together with a fourth generation of McGrath’s continue the tradition of supplying quality products and service based on our knowledge and experience of wood and associated materials honed over the years.
Chetham Timber is a founder member of the ‘Global Flooring Alliance’ based in Holland, the ‘Irish Timber Trades Association’ and is a registered member of the ‘European Federation of Parquet Importers’ based in Brussels
Brian McGrath was appointed EFPI’s Director of Standardization in 2011 and is part of CEN (European Committee for Standardization) TC 175 (Round and Sawn Timber) with particular input into WG 33 (Expert Group for Flooring).
